  • 5-level sound indicator – graphic bars on the parent unit indicate the level of sound in your baby’s room so you can visually monitor the noise level with the unit muted

Works – sorta This is the review of the newer model DM223, as with the previous version, DM221, the parent unit -can- beep in the middle of the night. We were hoping this newer model would solve the problem (note: we never owned the other model, so I can’t report on specifics of that one), but here is what we’ve found: overall solid, with 1 main issue, the beeping. Generally, it works, toddler calls for us, we hear her, even down in the basement. The issue is in the sensitivity feature. Full sensitivity, setting 5, you hear everything, constant feed, background noise, etc, we knocked it down slightly to setting 4 to cut out the constant white noise, apparently this is enough to trigger loss of connection between the parent and baby unit. 3 nights in a row parent unit beeped multiple times in the middle of the night waking us up, seriously annoying!, and the 2 rooms are not that far apart. We turned the sensitivity back to full 5, no more beeping.

I am very happy with our new baby monitor I am very happy with our new baby monitor. We have already tried it out and everything works perfectly. We actually bought it to monitor the sounds of new born puppies, in case they are stuck behind their mother and can’t get out. They act much like human babies in that they notify you they are in some type of difficulty and need help. Also like a human baby, it is difficult to constantly be with the puppies so having a baby monitor is ideal to monitor the puppies. My computer which I am using now is on the other side of the house with several walls separating me from the puppies at about 150 feet in distance away, yet I can hear the puppies crying and even talk to my spouse on the monitor while she is in the same room as the puppies. We have also “talked” to the mother of the puppies, who is constantly with the puppies and it is amazing how she reacts to hearing our voices over the monitor. She cocks her ears and stares intently at the microphone on the monitor and…
